Croplands Blueberry Sprayer Prototype
Croplands recently delivered a blueberry sprayer prototype to the Costa Group in Woolgoolga, near Coffs Harbour in NSW
The Costa Group is one of Australia's largest blueberry producers and Australia’s sole producers of raspberries. Croplands are proud to be working with the Costa team in Woolgoolga on their first blueberry sprayer prototype.
Costa's blueberries are mostly grown in tunnels. The irregularities of these tunnels pose a great challenge for the design of spraying equipment, with different dimensions and some with 2 rows, while others with 3 rows.
The prototype machine Croplands recently delivered to Costa’s in Woolgoolga had some minor adjustments made and now fits the majority of their applications.
With coverage tests using similar versions of Croplands Quantum Mist sprayers proving to be so effective in blueberries, this machine’s regular spray run at Costa’s big farm in Woolgoolga is greatly anticipated by both Croplands and the Costa Group.
With this unit already demonstrating such impressive results there is talk of development of a two row machine for use in raspberries on the same property.
