Dalby Growers Seeing WEEDit Savings

Local Dalby growers are experiencing the savings provided by the WEEDit trailed and Toolbar Kit.

Brendan Taylor recently purchased a Croplands WEEDit trailed sprayer. The optical spot spray unit was set up on farm by local Croplands dealer, Dalby Rural. Brendan is keen to put the machine to work on his 1,800 acre property in Warra, which crops cereals, sorghum, mungbeans and chickpeas.

“We specifically purchased the machine to target hard to kill weeds, such as feathertop rhodes and fleabane.”

Brendan is confident that WEEDit will enable them to spray precisely and more efficiently.

“Previously we have been applying robust rates at one hundred percent with a conventional boom and wasting a lot of chemical by spraying where there were no weeds. We’re really excited about the savings in chemical we will be able to gain with WEEDit.”

Andrew Johnston, managing partner of Dalby Rural Supplies says the following about WEEDit technology in their region.

"Growers have been keen to work with us to make the system right.  Over the past 6 to 8 months that we have worked with WEEDit, we've seen that it enables growers to use technology to bring down their chemical costs."

"Generally, most growers are very open to the concept of what we are trying to achieve."

"Demand for our WEEDit toolbar has been very high, with a number of growers using it several times already with great results"

"If WEEDit continues to do what it has been, Croplands will struggle to keep up with demand"

Dalby Rural Supplies has invested in a 12m Toolbar that growers have been using throughout the region to get some experience with WEEDit on their properties and see how the technology can benefit them.  Dalby Rural Supplies works closely with Brendan Taylor, and was the supporting dealer for Brendan's new 28m system.
